Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
· Thank God for Himself, His Son, the Spirit and His Word.
o I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. (Ps. 69:30)
o The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
· Ask for His assistance in living out today’s bible text and applying His teaching.
o Take . . . the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. (Ephesians 6:17-18)
· Ask for forgiveness of sins (be specific) and for protection from temptation.
o Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (Matthew 6:12)
o Lead us not into temptation…. Deliver us from evil. (Matthew 6:13)
